twentysix CEO recognised for inspirational career at Barclays Yorkshire Women in Business Awards 2018

Global CEO of Leeds agency twentysix, Gail Dudleston, has won the Barclays Yorkshire Women in Business award in the SME category.

The awards, which took place on Thursday, 21 June 2018, recognise women who have made outstanding contributions to business in Yorkshire and beyond.

Gail was praised by the judges for “her vision, recognising the need to switch to digital advertising ahead of its time” and her international focus, taking the company to New York and Hong Kong.

They said: “Gail has been instrumental in developing and delivering the strategy of focusing purely on digital”.

Gail said: “I am honoured and delighted to win this award. It is an amazing recognition of working women and, as a single parent myself, testament to the strength of working mothers.

“Our growth at twentysix, expanding from just six employees in 2005 to 154 and increasing our turnover from £200,000 to £15.2 million this year, has been phenomenal! But it could not have been achieved without the support of the very talented team I have the pleasure of working with, and I’d like to thank everyone who has helped along the way.

“Born in Cleckheaton and raised in Dewsbury, I’m immensely proud to be a Yorkshirewoman leading a Yorkshire business. The strength of digital in Yorkshire is a Northern Powerhouse in its own right and we’re proud to play our part, now and in the future.”

Debbie Mullen, Barclays Corporate Head of Yorkshire said: “The applications were all exceptionally good and the judges had a tough job drawing up the short list and selecting the finalists. Congratulations for all our finalists today who are role models for business women and have significantly contributed to the Yorkshire economy.”

The category was judged by last year’s winners, including Linda Clarke, MKM Building Supplies and Suzanne Robinson, EY Yorkshire and Humber as well as other regional leaders in business, including Victoria Robershaw, Keelham Hall Farm Shop, Julie Kenny CBE, and Allison Page, DLA LLP.
